My Journey to Mindfulness

The natural and spiritual worlds have always lived within me, along with the capacity to listen and connect deeply. These are my truths and for many years I ignored them.  Instead, I followed a path that felt more culturally acceptable.  It was inevitable that living out of integrity with my truths would catch up with me, and it did.

I struggled with job dissatisfaction, post-partum depression, a type 1 diabetes diagnosis, loneliness and exhaustion.  I spent years trying different coping mechanisms and thousands of dollars in therapy, but nothing changed my life the way mindfulness and meditation did.

Mindfulness meditation taught me how to be with myself in a way that no therapist ever taught me. These teachings taught me to trust myself - my goodness - which for so many years I shamed and avoided. They taught me how to face and be with the uncomfortable and allow it, not try to fix it. Never before in my life have I been more comfortable and caring towards myself and I attribute this to my mindfulness and meditation practices.

Even amid my struggles, people gravitated toward me and shared their stories. I began to notice a pattern: my heart felt alive when listening deeply, holding space, and witnessing others’ experiences.  It felt effortless. It was the first sign pointing me back to my truths - that of deep connectivity, vulnerability, the allowing of being human, and the union of the human and spiritual worlds.

My Approach

I bring presence, curiosity, and deep listening to every session, along with a lightness, realness, and a bit of humor - creating a space that offers a sense of ease and comfort to practice. To help my clients reconnect with their essence—their truth and deepest wisdom—the place where answers already reside.

My practice and work are rooted in Insight meditation and Buddhist teachings – it is also empirically supported by neuroscience.  I invite clients to turn inward — softening and expanding their hearts, minds, and bodies. Together, we explore steadiness, connection, awakening and insight in everyday life.

I am certified by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, and have a weekly practice with the mentoring of Sharon Shelton through Banyan Together.  I bring these teachings and experiences to each of our sessions, to your unique practice.

If any part of this resonates, I would be honored to sit in practice with you.
